You should aim to arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start of the workshop so that you can get yourself settled into the studio with a drink etc. You can find directions to the studio by clicking here.
There is plenty of parking on site. However please be aware that the studio is located on a farm and there are no shops nearby. So please bring a packed lunch as appropriate. We can provide you with plenty of drinks during the workshop or you may prefer to bring your own. There is a fridge for storage of medicines.
Everything you need for the workshop will be provided so there's nothing you need to bring in particular although you are welcome to bring your own tools if you wish. However for health and safety reasons we recommend you do not wear open toe shoes and please do not wear anything with a trailing sleeve.
If you are looking for places to stay, here is one website you can consider. There are also a few places we can recommend.
We recently visited Nordham Cottages and they look very nice although I don’t know what the minimum stay terms are. Similarly, you might want to try Redhouse Farm Cottages.
Or you might want to try Trinity Guest House in Beverley. Again it’s a B&B which many of our students have stayed in. It’s located in town opposite the railway station, so close to shops, restaurants and even a cinema.
There is a Premier Inn in Beverley but I would check about parking arrangements as they use a multi-storey car park next door to the hotel.
The one place to avoid is Minster Garth Guest House (also known as Beverley Guest House). It used to be a lovely bed & breakfast hotel but in recent years has deteriorated significantly. The local tourist board have removed it from their list. The Tripadvisor rating is 1.5 based on more than 370 reviews. The owner has been fined for dishonesty.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further assistance. Otherwise we look forward to seeing you on the day.
