Screw Thread Poison Ring Master Class

This course is aimed at the intermediate/advanced level metal clay enthusiast.

Once believed to have been made to conceal poison to administer to your enemy, now this ring can have a far more innocent purpose to carry a token of friendship, gratitude, a lock of hair or another memento.

The clever construction of the concealed chamber within the ring will disguise its purpose & only the wearer need be aware of the secret within. The neck & lid form the helical structure of a traditional right-handed screw thread.

Engineering and applying the mechanics of a screw thread in metal clay is not the easiest of tasks. Tracey has researched & developed the different types of thread to create, from vee thread, square thread, acme thread, buttress thread & multi-start thread. Then came the challenge of trying each of these with the different brands & types of metal clay in order to achieve the most successful results.

Tracey has worked on, developed & taught this screw thread poison ring for several years but now, with new & improved metal clay products on the market, it makes the screw thread easier to achieve. All of the component parts of the ring are made entirely from metal clay. No pre-manufactured components are used in the construction of the ring.

The lid is then punctuated with a bezel set bullet gemstone to create a statement. So there is always the option to create additional lids with different gemstone focals.

This project will challenge your metal clay skills & experience to new heights.

Included in the course:-

25g of lump clay will be supplied, with use of the studio paste pot. If you wish to make more or larger pieces then you can purchase additional clay on the day.
