Artists with advanced metal-smithing skills will find that PMC™ Sterling works well with all the traditional techniques. It can be soldered with any grade of silver solder. It also invites filing and hammering or even forging as well as enameling, keum-boo, stone setting and plating. Simply put, there is no technique in the metal smith's arsenal that cannot be applied with PMC™ Sterling.
As Tracey was one of the first UK artists to run a range of tests and perform some extensive experiments with the new PMC™ Sterling Silver, she has developed some tips and tricks that trouble shoot you through making the most of working with PMC™ Sterling Silver clay.
This workshop is aimed at the beginner with little or no experience of working with metal clay. During the day you will be guided through the step by step techniques of handling, shaping, forming and adding texture with all the essential techniques to achieve a professional finish to your work. We work to make two different pieces that takes full advantage of working with Sterling Silver Clay.
We aim to give you the skills and techniques that become the sound foundation for achieving the best results with PMC™ Sterling. You will be inspired with further samples on display so you can go away to apply your own creative ideas to your new skills.
Even if you have plenty of metal clay experience you will find the PMC™ Sterling has very different characteristics from other metal clays. You would do yourself a great favour to join this class to pick up some essential tips and tricks to get fabulous results from the product. We've done all the testing so you can avoid all the disappointment of costly mistakes.
