Following Debbie's successful workshop in 2011, due to popular demand we have invited Debbie back, this time with more techniques to explore through making a stunning cuff.

Polymer Clay is a versatile material, with a myriad of colours and endless possibilities to explore. Once considered a hobby craft material, these days polymer clay is also used by world class artists manipulating the material into pieces being sold in galleries and shops for high end prices. Here's your chance to share in Debbie's extensive knowledge and experiences on making the most of working with this material to achieve amazing contemporary style jewellery.

Making bangles  and cuffs  using polymer clay offers an incredible opportunity to express your creativity using this amazing medium. There are so many ways it can be done!

On day 1, we will explore a wide variety of polymer clay techniques to decorate our cuffs . This will range from Milifiori cane making, making simple to complex canes, to surface design using texture sheets with gold leaf and pearlex paints. We will also look at using the extruder gun to create even more canes!

On day 2, we put it all together. Using a brass armature we will create veneers using the canes and/or surface designs paying close attention to colour and design choices. The bangles are then covered in a number of steps with a baking between each one. Emphasis is placed on the finish of the piece through sanding, polishing or using waxes and varnishes. Going home with  a beautiful piece of wearable art and lots of ideas for future work is the aim and hopefully the outcome of this course.
